Been thinking about tonkatsu for awhile. Met up with some friends after work. It was early but the inside was a little crowded already so we got a table outside. I had combination pork loin, pork fillet and chicken katsu. The difference between the loin and fillet is that the loin has more fat and the fillet is more lean. I liked the loin the best. The meat was tender and not chewy or hard to eat. It was cooked just right. They are running a coupon also, but one entree get one 50% off. Such a great deal. My mouth is already watering thinking about the next time I can make it out here again.
We have ordered take out and now dined in. Both experiences were great. The Katsus are crunch but meats are extremely soft and juicy. My husband loves loves loves the chicken Katsu. I like the tonkatsu filet. Mild tonkatsu sauce is more flavorful than the spicy (which isn't spicy- it's more salty). Staff wear masks, which is nice. Service is fast and they are friendly. Price point is a little steep, but the food is great.
I haven't eaten here in a while and decided to eat in w 2 friends after work. We got outdoor seating right away since it was full inside, the outside was nice! The staff were all very friendly. I ordered the Ebi (shrimp) and pork filet which came with miso soup, rice, cabbage and pickled veggie sides. The cabbage came with yuzu or sesame dressing, they left both on our table. My favorite was the yuzu. The pork fillet was amazing! Soooo tender, high quality pork cutlet. Amazing and a must try! The shrimp was okay. The star here is the pork filet!! I will definitely be back and even check out their take out lunch specials for the work week.
We pass this place whenever we 're in Pearlridge and never tried it but decided today is the day! Lots of people were eating there and they had a sign 90-minute wait so we decided takeout was the way to go! My husband and I both ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry. It comes with the curry sauce, white or brown rice and thinly sliced cabbage with your choice of miso or sesame dressing. They gave a good amount of cabbage but not enough dressing. The Chicken Katsu was good...wish it was cut in slices to make it easier to eat. As for the size of the chicken, I feel that the 2 pieces were pretty small for $18.75. Overall, the food tasted like any Japanese restaurants but more pricey.
