Getaway Restaurant OLG - Ajax

We had the stir-fry -- I had beef teriyaki with udon noodles and my friend had the chicken teriyaki with lo mein noodles. It came with lots of vegetables including carrots, broccoli, green beans, snow peas, onion. Good size portions. My friend couldn't finish his. The staff were quick and friendly and the food came in good time. Lots of tv screens in the bar area, but also good seating overlooking the race track. Children can eat at the restaurant -- it is separate from the gaming area.

During our final get together before the summer break we decided to go to the Getaway Restaurant at Ajax Downs OLG. The food was excellent and we were not rushed to leave. The staff was very helpful and we had a very enjoyable meal. The menu offered a good variety that all appetites could enjoy. The portions were large and the food was very tasty. The price point was excellent also.

We haven't stopped in in a while, but once again we were not disappointed. Usually it's a friend and I for lunch. I have been there for dinner too and also when it's been really busy. I personally like the attention and quick service at the bar counter. One side has tvs and usually there's a seat. Good tasting, great service. Save room for the bread pudding. YUM! We do ask for extra sauce etc when we are celebrating! I also really appreciate the cheery flowers on the tables and a real linen napkin. Enjoy!:)

We drive from Toronto to have their Canadian breakfast almost weekly. I am gluten free so they replace the bread with tons of sliced tomatoes. Servers are very friendly and we stop and make a little donation at the casino. Sometimes we even come out winning. This is our favourite casino restaurant.

The Getaway Restaurant is located in the OLG Slots in Ajax and their lunch and dinners are very good but their desserts are exceptional. My favourite is the Bread Pudding with pecans and maple sauce.
