Ye Olde Fighting Cocks - Arnside

Despite the recent lockdown that cut our getaway short during these challenging times, we had a wonderful few days. Tony, his wife, and the staff were absolutely fantastic. The location is beautiful, the room was lovely, the food was great, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We look forward to returning someday. Wishing everyone all the best for 2021!

The staff's cleaning efforts after customers left were by far the most concerning aspect. They hardly cleaned the tabletops and completely neglected the menus and the call buttons on each table. Additionally, the staff moved between tables without washing or sanitizing their hands, even after physical contact with customers. Tony, the server, seemed indifferent to the issues when we brought them up. Overall, I would rate this experience a 10/10 for not recommending it to anyone, except perhaps the food standards agency for a COVID compliance inspection.

I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. The evening meal was wonderful, and the host went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. We'll definitely be back—the roast beef sharing platter was absolutely delicious!
