Shanghai Memory - Ashfield

I *love* this place! Forget the fancy pants places in the city, this is the real deal.

I have been three time and each time it has blown my friends and I away with how cheap it is to eat so well here.

Had a takeaway from here , friendly telephone and delivery service, the food was plentiful and tasty.

Shanghai Memory is the best place to go for good Chinese food. It has lovely staff and amazing dumplings!! What comes on top is that it is amazingly cheap and easily accessible from Sydney CBD by train, Bus or Car.

I first discovered Shanghai dumplings during a visit to Shanghai itself, in the famous Chinese Gardens. This was the beginning of my love affair with the king of all dumplings, those lovely little packets of deliciousness; those lovely mouthfuls of scrumptiousness. And, here in suburban Ashfield is a small oasis of culinary nostalgia, part of the Chinese restaurant strip. In the restaurant window, as if a work of art in itself, the chef lovingly fashions these juicy gravy filled balls of pleasure. I love to drop by and have a fix of 8 steamed dumplings and chinese tea for under $10.00. Aptly named "Shanghai Memory" this restaurant can be easily reached by train or car. Parking is rarely a problem in Ashfield. Do drop in if you are shopping in the area, and give yourself a treat. The waitress must have been preoccupied the last time I dropped in, she actually forgot to put tea leaves in the teapot. I thought it was a new pale tea with a delicate flavour at first, then a diner at the next table had the same experience! Well, some staff have bad hair days, I guess. But do check your teapot before you begin. And, oh yes, they do have a comprehensive menu.
