All I can say is that the head chef was exceptional in how he led the staff. He is truly inspiring and demonstrated remarkable leadership skills.
I visited Jamie's Italian for New Year's Eve, and it was an incredible experience. The service was outstanding, and the food was, as always, fantastic. What truly stood out to me was that just before midnight, all the staff were given a glass of bubbly and encouraged to join in the celebrations. It was such a wonderful gesture and refreshing to see a restaurant treat its employees so well during the holiday season. Additionally, the reservation process was seamless, and the atmosphere was vibrant. Kudos to Jamie's Italian! I can’t wait to return soon.
Next, we enjoyed the Oxtail Lasagna, which, according to the menu, is made with oxtail ragu that is slow-cooked for 12 hours to create this amazing, mouthwatering dish. Topped with plenty of Parmesan and some wild rocket, this is definitely a must-try for anyone craving a hearty, cheesy main course! Finally, we ordered the Julietta, a classic margherita pizza topped with bocconcini and fresh basil. The pizza dough at Jamie’s Italian is made the way pizza dough should be—fluffy, crispy, and light, using only the freshest ingredients. In my opinion, that’s what makes it utterly delicious. Since it was my mother’s birthday, we were also surprised with a complimentary Chocolate Brownie topped with Salted Caramel Ice Cream (which I will be dreaming about for quite some time). Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better! I will definitely be returning soon!
Jamie's Italian Restaurant: If it's fine dining you're after, rather skip Jamie's as you will be disappointed. Jamie's is all about honest, simple and plain down yummy Italian food served with a smile. The overall atmosphere is friendly and warm and the manager visited our table twice to check if all was in order. We first visited a year ago when Jamie's first opened and we were as impressed yesterday as we were then. In fact, in our opinion, the food has improved in the past year. We had the garlic bread to start and it was decadent! Served warm with just enough toasted garlic and butter. For mains I had the famous bolognaise- a very generous portion, flavourful, authentic and worth all the carbs! My fiancé Rugan Naicker had the Italian beef burger and spicy fries- the brioche bun was toasted and the beef patty homemade and delicious. We shared the tiramisu for dessert- each with an espresso martini of course. Our starter (shared between two), mains, fries, dessert (shared), a bottle of MCC and two espresso martinis set us back around R780, R900 with a tip. All in all a pleasant experience and we will definitely return.
The Spaghetti Carbonara is to die for!!!!! The staff are friendly and well trained. Would recommend this place to everyone. Please opena restaurant in Cape Town
