Ordered half order of onion rings, cheese curds ribeye, perch and grouper. It was all excellent as was the service. They hustle, and things seem to be ran very efficiently. It was a very nice dinner.
Only 5:30 on a Saturday night at an out of the way establishment, but there were people waiting outside for tables. The owner was at the side, taking names. While we were waiting, we saw a customer go up to him, to compliment the establishment and the staff. We got 2 seats at the bar and ordered drinks for our planned 45+ minute wait. However, it became apparent that people were ordering food while seated there, so we inquired and then did the same. The ribeye open face sandwiches hit the spot for us. This place has a rather small bar and restaurant area, with tables outside under the frees as well. The staff was friendly and the service was good. While we waited, an actor from one of the local theaters came in and ordered several pieces of chocolate cake for carry out, and it was obvious that the staff knew her well; I took that as a recommendation in itself.
Our server was a sweetheart, but the food???? My chili was older than my great grandmother, and my husband's burger was a gastronomic nightmare. It had a flavor so foul, it could've awakened the dead, and he only managed a few heroic bites. When asked if we wanted a Plan B, we refused the offer. When bad food ruins your appetite, you're not exactly eager to try the kitchen's next trainwreck. The server didn’t take the burger off of our bill, which I found pretty rude. I’m so sick of trying to find a decent place to go out to eat in Door County. I guess I’m too picky.
Loved it there. Local and lovely. Great fresh cut Fried cheese curds.
2 of 4 liked their food- the ribs and the western burger. 1 of us ordered a quesadilla with everything- CAUTION fresh vegetables on their menu means uncooked- there were completely raw onions, peppers and mushrooms on my quesadilla which no one wants. 1 of us ordered the prime rib sandwich cooked medium, which came more than 3 quarters fat and the rest cooked blue. He had to send it back, and requested the grilled ham and cheese as an alternative and it was equally unappealing. After all the good reviews we were shocked that only 2 of us cook actually eat our meal.
