I love Cafe Abseits. The beer selection is the widest you will find in Bamberg, with beers brewed in Bamberg but also beers brewed in the surrounding countryside at small but wonderful breweries. You will also find some beers from other parts of Germany (Schneider),...special beers brewed by Weyermann, and Belgian ales. Probably about taps (approx) and extensive bottle list. Other things I love: nice outdoor beer garden area if weather is nice, friendly staff, a varied menu with some German dishes (schnitzel) but also stuff like wings, burgers, tortellini, tex-mex, salads, and excellent pizza. Plus veg options! Manager Gerhard Schoolman is a gem and can make excellent suggestions for the beer adventurer. It is about a minute walk from the train station, exit the rear of the station, turn right on the street, and Poedeldorfer will be a left.
