Currently they removed from the menu to have now tradicional food, but once you call the restaurant with a day in advance, you may very well go with your family and enjoy delicious food. I believe it is a family business and every customer really cares. The north of Portugal is known for the hospitality, but they excel! Great food (vegan and non vegan, from what I saw) and made with love. Also, for those looking for Portuguese gastronomy, this restaurant will welcome you!
Many restaurants along the Camino offer program menus. These can be as cheap as five euro per person. However, the five-year-old males often are mostly french fries and rice, with a little meat and a tiny bowl of soup. And no beverage included. But dinner at Restaurante Oliveira Velha was elegant and well presented, with good quality food and good portions. For 9 euro it included a well-made salad or soup, main course, lots of wine, and coffee. It was quiet, well decorated, with good service.and the quality of food was better than most pilgrim meals.
We went to Oliveira Velha with our 15 month old baby and she got served equally well as us. The food was fresh, the service quick and friendly. We took scampi and calamares, one plate for two was enough. The setting is modern, clean and relaxing.
Après un petit séjour dans la région j’ai découvert ce petit restaurant dans la région de Gilmonde. Je recommande fortement.
Great place to eat traditional Portuguese food.
