Friendly environment, welcoming and warm. Had the sourdough bread, was ok, but the amazing thing was the miso butter. Tasted to me like blue cheece, very light flavour.Had a glass of ACT Shiraz, was nice and mature.Starter course was the octopus, came out very quickly, cooked as it should, along with the carrots and some crispy bacon. The sauce was tingly and highlighted the octopus.Main courses were the gnocchi and a beef steak, both well cooked. The chimichurri blends great with the meat.Thankfully we had some bread left aside to enjoy the sauce from the gnocchi!Dessert was the creme brulee and the lemon meringue( a bit too strong for me, great for her! .Thank you for considering our allergies!
Checked out Vincent tonight with the tasting menu. Delicious, surprising flavours. Price point appropriate at $70/pax. An interesting dining room, minimalist, but doesn't suffer noise-wise from the lack of soft furnishings a la 86. Pleasant warm service ready with suggestions about pairing wine with the food. Wine prices not exorbitant. Will definitely be back.
We booked this restaurant mainly because it was an easy walk from our hotel and the menu is the food we like to eat. Really enjoyed the concept of communal bar type seating and eating. Waitress was fantastic explaining the menu, All the food we had was amazing - particularly the scallops, barramundi and pork belly. The wine we had by the glass that was recommended was a very good match for our food. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Highly recommend and will certainly visit again when in Canberra.
First thing that hits you as you walk in is the black fi tout and communal dining set up. Thankfully the lighting is strategically placed to ensure you are not ordering or eating in the dark.Typical modern fit out with no sound deadening surfaces. We arrived at 7.30pm on a Saturday evening, very busy and really noisy. The wine list is quite small (all by the glass 11 whites and 10 reds ) very well priced and only one local wine listed the rest from overseas (disappointing )The food menu again is small and set up for sharing .Staff were welcoming and friendlyThe saving grace for me was the quality and plating of the food. Absolutely beautiful , great flavours and was savoured by both of us .Would we return? Maybe for lunch.
