All dishes are served as share plates, though it would be helpful if the menu distinguished between smaller share plates (starters) and larger ones (mains). The food is well-prepared and flavorful. I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5, but since it's not quite a perfect 5, I'll settle on a 4-star rating. The beer selection is intriguing, especially the Belgian options. The flavors have a quality reminiscent of elevated home cooking. However, the duck mousse was slightly over-set—perhaps a bit too much pectin or another setting agent was used. The beef cheeks could benefit from a splash of red wine to enhance their flavor. The beetroot salad was excellent, and the scallops were delicious. Everything, aside from the beef cheeks, could use a touch more seasoning. Overall, it's a solid dining experience, although it does feel a little overpriced, perhaps by about 15%.
Fantastic service! The staff at Cinnabar took excellent care of us, even dividing our cocktail into two glasses so we could share. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the duck liver pâté, Ethiopian chicken, beef cheeks, and sides of potatoes and pearl barley. The chicken was the highlight of the meal! We would have loved to try dessert, but we were too full from the generous portions of the main dishes and sides. Thank you for a wonderful evening, Cinnabar!
The food here is incredible and thoughtfully prepared. The tartare is a must-try, and I highly recommend the broth shot specials when they’re available again. The staff are friendly and attentive, making it a hidden gem in the Blue Mountains. I will definitely be returning!
The menu features a variety of items, from main courses to small appetizers and sides. We enjoyed two salads, a broth, and the fish curry as our main dish, with quinoa on the side. We also treated ourselves to dessert, which was absolutely delicious. Although I’m not a fan of olives, I found them delightful in the paprikas, as their flavor blended beautifully with the other ingredients. Our total bill was about $130, including drinks for two, and it was well worth it. We took our time, spending about 2.5 hours there, and everything was presented beautifully on clean plates. We are looking forward to our next fantastic culinary experience at Cinnabar!
Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely! The atmosphere is stunning, and the manager truly cares about both food and craftsmanship. You can sense this passion the moment you step inside. Every dish we ordered was a delight—well cooked, well seasoned, and invigorating. I could go on detailing each item, but I'd just end up raving about everything. Trust me, it's worth the price, so make sure to book in advance!
