This pales in comparison with what one might expect of a seafood buffet. A quick check with other seafood buffets, and also those eaten from prior experience in Brisbane and elsewhere have an entire section on seafood consisting of other items such as fish, Moreton Bay bugs, mussels, squid/calamari etc. Prices of such buffets can be around $49, but definitely one that is worth value for money. Paid almost $40 for this one, and this even does not come with drinks. Will not likely return, and very glad in a way that the guest that we were keen to invite missed out because we would have been embarrassed to have recommended this as a seafood buffet. There was also very little other spread for the lunch. The restaurant will face significant competition in this space once new hotels open late this year, in 2018 and thereafter.
I came here for a late Mother's Day high tea and had a great experience! We had the chocolate high tea and the choice is amazing. From a gluten free station, chocolate fondue station, sandwiches and delectable cakes and sweets there was a multitude of choice. The food was great quality and we enjoyed the ambiance and service of the Stamford Plaza. Only slight let down was that there wasn't a glass of champagne included in the $50 buffet price but wasn't a huge deal as everything was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Came here for a birthday lunch and was quite classy for a buffet. The highlight for me was the oysters, you hardly find buffets in Brisbane where you can still taste the freshness - found a gold mine. The other selection of seafood was also quite good as well as the available hot foods. Sadly there was not too much for dessert but what was available at the time was fantastic, just wished there were just as many options for dessert as there was for the mains. All in all was a very pleasant visit :)
We came here on a saturday night. The buffet selection wasn't really much. I started with seafood selection, they had prawn, oyster, mussel, and crab..i think thats all. Seafood was good and fresh. Salad section they have cold cut, garden salad, potato salad, caesar salad and greek salad. Salad stuff wasn't really great. Main course they have grill pork (this is awesome), ricotta tortelini (okay), beef curry and I couldn't remember the rest. Desert they have plum pudding, ice cream and fruit. Overall the food was okay but wasn't really great great. But not bad for having a romantic date or dining with family.
We had the seafood buffet here on a Sunday night, on a positive note, pros were that the seafood was fresh; Oysters were amazing and decently sized compared to other buffets. Unfortinuately that was about all... Cons: hot bar was a let down as it consisted of ham slices with pineapple, roast vegetables and a curry dish.... not too impressed. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall, an okay dining experience but I probably would not return.
