This place is great for that proper Italian restaurant feel with great vegan options. It offers vegan cheese with all veggie options.

Very much an unassuming restaurant, in a handy location definitely a hidden gem and brilliant find.It was an entirely impromptu visit, having checked the menu which was varied enough but also small enough to suggest fresh, home cooked food, which it was.They managed to squeeze us in, without booking, which I did appreciate very much.Starters were amazing, brilliant calamari, and goats cheese. Mains just as amazing, perfect pizzas and fresh, tasty lasagnes. Home made tiramisu to die for and the cheesecake was brilliant. Slight disappointment in that I was told the wrong flavour but it was lovely all the same.Great service, ambience and environment. Fantastic value for money too. So pleased to find and be able to support independent right in the city centre.Absolutely can't wait to come back again!

We found La Grotta by accident and even thought it was a Thursday evening in November we learned they were pretty booked up. A small glass of house red cost and my lasagna al forno was delicious and only the focaccia bread was yummy and we shared it between the two of us My Tiramasu was also good but not the best on the planet We liked the place. Authentically Italian and great food at low prices. We may come again!
