The combination of lamb and squash is quite distinctive. They take about 15 minutes to prepare since they're made fresh and then fried, but the wait is definitely worthwhile. While you wait, you can dive into some of their other offerings! The lamb is robust in flavor, and the squash adds a wonderful texture, enhanced by a side of chili flakes and soy sauce. The true highlight, though, is the freshly made dumpling skin, which is delightfully chewy and offers a vastly different experience from store-bought options. Be sure to try the **Pan-Fried Pork Bun (1 for $2, 2 for $3)**. I can't recommend it enough! It's incredibly crispy on the bottom, freshly fried, and you can just imagine the satisfying crunch as you cut into it with a fork. The filling is generous—there's no skimping on quality here! Don't overlook this gem of a place! I'm looking forward to returning, even though I live in a different borough.
This charming dumpling stand has become one of my go-to places whenever I'm in Flushing. My top pick is definitely their meat pancakes, and I often buy a few to freeze for later; they reheat beautifully in the air fryer. I've tried the beef, pork, and lamb varieties, and the lamb is by far my favorite. It’s exceptionally juicy and full of rich, gamey flavor, all enclosed in a wonderfully doughy shell. I haven't had the opportunity to sample their other dishes yet, but I definitely plan to!
This review went from a 2 to a 5 after I finally tried the dumplings, but be ready for a bit of a wait depending on what you order. We went to sample the lamb and squash dumplings and were surprised to be informed of a 20-minute wait after we made our payment. Normally, this wouldn’t be a huge issue, but I didn’t expect it since there were several pre-made dumplings available up front—just not the flavor we were looking for. Plus, there’s no seating while you wait, which makes the wait feel even longer... However! These were genuinely some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had. They were incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor and juice in every bite, making it such a pleasure to eat. I only wish we had ordered two servings! If you can spare a little time and have some patience, you should definitely stop by to try these dumplings.
We were at Tian Jin for ordering some dumplings. There were a great choice of food: dumplings, baos and pancakes. The service was very friendly and the dumplings were prepared on demand in front of us.We ordered lamb and vegetable mix dumplings. Both were big and tasty. The price was cheap (8$ for 10). We were very satisfied!
The best pork dumplings I ever had and that for a very affordable price! Moreover, the lady who took our order was so friendly.
