George's Tradition Chilwell - Broxtowe

The fish and chips at this restaurant are excellent. The chips are cooked quickly to a crispy, fresh perfection and paired with a perfectly golden brown piece of fish. Thank you for the fantastic meal, 5 stars!

After a disappointing experience in May, I decided to give this restaurant another try. Since I was dining alone, I ordered through Deliveroo. The food arrived promptly and was deliciously hot, which was a pleasant change from my previous visit. The cod was cooked perfectly and the chips were excellent. My only complaint is that I couldn't order peas and curry sauce through the Deliveroo app.

As a special treat for my family while not feeling well, I decided to order fish and chips. However, I was extremely disappointed. The fish and chips were only lukewarm and the batter was heavy and not crispy at all. It was disappointing considering the price we paid.

As seniors, we found the price of £20.40 for 2 small cod meals with a large curry sauce to be quite high, making it more of a treat for us. Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We waited a long time for our meal, approximately 25 minutes, only to be let down by the quality of the food. The chips were of poor quality and the mushy peas were more like a green liquid with hardly any peas in sight. To top it off, in a previous visit last June, my order was missing the chips altogether. The staff, who seemed inexperienced and lacked professionalism, served substandard food. Despite the high price, we did not receive consistent good food and service. We will not be returning until we see a significant improvement in reviews about this restaurant.

Just been in George's Chiwell. Large fish and chips small fish and chips two kids meals, gravey and curry sauce £35! I know things have gone up. The food was okay at best. The chip's weren't very warm and looked like they had been there for a while. The fish was nice as it had been freshly cooked. The shop was empty. The lady in the shop had to write the prices on the receipt as it wasn't itemised.
