Orpheu - Coimbra

We saw this restaurant in the Green Guide and decided to try it. Wow.....what a grand mistake. We had to leave, basically without eating and certainly without paying. I can 't even describe the grilled cod that was served. First, the entire skeleton of the fish was still inside. Second, it was so salty and this was after we told the man serving us that we were on low-salt diets. We found out later that the fish was brined, and then reconstituted, whatever that means. The fish was not fresh and smelled not fresh. What an awful lunch experience and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone!

This small restaurant, located in downtown, seems to have it all: good food; great vegetarian and vegan options which is not very usual in Coimbra; an excellent ambience for group meals and some of the nicest staff in town. All for affordable prices. I've eaten here for at least three times, the last one was yesterday, at a group dinner. Couldn't be more pleased.

We ate here with a group of 26 people! We ate Cozido, and had unlimited drinks! The owners of the restaurant were very friendly, and created the right environment for us to have a great evening!

We had dinner in this small restaurant with a group of 30 people. We had such a nice meal! The meat, rice and vegetables were very tasteful. They also had very nice wines and sangria. The owners were very patient and friendly. I would definitely return to this restaurant for a nice meal.

We had a group dinner with 26 people. The dish was cozido a portuguesa, with unlimited drink! The taste was amazing, the drinks were really good! But the most important thing, the owner of the rest. are great people, so friendly and so nice! No doubts to go and have a great time in this place!!
