Happy Lamb Hot Pot, Coquitlam

Overall, the food at this restaurant was excellent, featuring a delightful flavor profile. I rated the service at 7.5 out of 10, as the staff seemed a bit rushed in their tasks. On the other hand, the atmosphere earned a perfect 10/10, enriched by fantastic music predominantly consisting of pop songs from 2020 to 2023, including several hits popular on TikTok. As for vegetarian options, there was a wide variety of vegetables available for the hot pot, and I believe there was also a special vegetarian hot pot option.

This is definitely my favorite hotpot restaurant in Coquitlam. They recently renovated the space, enabling customers to select many of their ingredients directly from the shelves. This is all part of the all-you-can-eat offer, which is under $25 for lunch. Dinner includes seafood options as well. They provide free drink refills, and if you prefer non-spicy choices, you can opt for a split soup. The service is quick, and there's a cute robot that delivers food to your table. There is plenty of parking available in Henderson on both levels, as well as nearby street parking.

My wife and I have been frequent visitors to this Coquitlam location for years, and I’m excited to say it has just improved! We truly enjoy the new layout! And rest assured—the amazing soup bases, top-notch food, and the lovely, attentive staff are still here! We've already been there twice this month, and we’re eagerly anticipating our next visit!

While all the servers were friendly, they lacked the professionalism needed to enhance the overall experience. For instance, there was no eye contact when the server approached us, as she seemed to avoid looking our way, perhaps to reduce her workload. If a server is busy, they should at least inform another team member to assist and attempt to make eye contact with customers. Additionally, our pot needed more broth as it became quite thick with noodles, but the servers didn’t come around to refill it. We often had to approach them for extra utensils. There was also an incident where a server accidentally spilled water but did not clean it up, which posed a slipping hazard. I think a good practice would be for servers to check in with tables and ask if we needed anything. Furthermore, the sauce bottles were sticky and oily, which made it unpleasant to handle them. On the positive side, the food was fresh and we didn't have to wait long for it, which was a plus. Overall, I believe the restaurant could greatly improve by retraining its staff to enhance customer experience. My rating of 7/10 reflects this lack of teamwork and professionalism.

I had a fantastic experience here! It's even superior to the one at Metrotown (sorry about that!). The service was outstanding, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. We even received complimentary ice cream! I believe we'll be returning soon, especially since they gave us discount coupons—haha!
