My only complaint was the wobbly table we were seated at, which kept tilting. Initially, I thought the Mao's pork would be my favorite, with its generous chunks of pork belly and garlic, but then the Mongolian beef surprised me with its amazing flavor, making it difficult to choose a favorite. For dessert, we had the fortune cookie cheesecake, which I expected to be just cheesecake with crushed fortune cookies on top. However, it turned out to be much more creative. It featured a crust made from fortune cookies that you could really taste, a delicious strawberry purée, large pieces of cookie scattered throughout, and a dollop of whipped cream on top.
We had the Xiao Long Bao, or soupy dumplings, which weren’t as soupy as others I've had and were a bit larger than I prefer; I think they should be one-bite sized. The filling was quite tasty, but I would have liked the dipping sauce to include some ginger instead of it being mixed into the filling. The Chicken Egg Rolls were nice and crispy with a lot of flavor. The Scallion Pancakes were light and crisp, which was a pleasant surprise—although I wished each order included more! The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were flavorful, though the filling was a tad salty; however, wrapped in lettuce, they were just right. The service was somewhat lacking; perhaps our server was having an off day, as one of our dishes was forgotten. Overall, it was a decent experience.
The food was excellent—reasonably priced, generous portions, and it arrived quickly! We ordered the combo dumplings to share, and for my main dish, I added beef to the Szechuan string beans. I appreciated that they were willing to accommodate my request without charging a hefty fee, which is often the case at other places that treat it as two different entrees. It was absolutely delicious! The service was attentive and friendly, and the cocktails were beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and will be sure to return the next time I’m in Dallas.
First time visiting Trinity Groves and enjoyed dinner at Sum Dang Good Chinese. I didn't get a picture of my spicy fried beef, but it was delicious! We also enjoyed the Ants Climbing Trees dish and Hot Tea. The waiter was friendly and attentive. We had a great time and really loved the good. By the way, you can share these portions!
Came here on St. Patrick?s day with my best friend! We each ordered drinks, she had a green dragon and i had the lychee tea. My drink was so strong per the menu but tasted amazing (dangerous lol) and her drink was surprisingly yummy to me. we got edamame and it was really good. i?m plant-based and was so happy to see all of their vegan and vegetarian options. the ma po tofu was so yummy and a great portion for the price! I was able to walk away with leftovers. Our server Dre was super attentive but I could tell they were supper busy. Glad to see this place is doing well, I plan on coming back!
