Shingle Inn Eastgardens

Located on the middle level inside the Bunnerong Road entrance. Seating is available inside and outside. Great choice of snacks and meals.

These people should not be in business. On a quiet day our bitter coffee took nearly 25 minutes, and the bottle of Pepsi came at the same time as if it had to be delivered fresh from the factory. They had brought an expensive bit of cake out about 5 minutes before the coffee. Our breakfasts were nowhere to be seen at nearly 40 minutes so we decided to leave. We told the server the coffee had taken a long time, and our food hadn't been delivered. He walked off without acknowledging the complaint, appearing utterly disinterested. We went in to have our meal refunded (because we had to pay first) as we refused to wait any longer, and got an argument. They had only just started cooking it so 40 minutes after placing our order and PAYING, the cook finally got around to throwing an egg and bacon on the grill. The staff are rude, the service is slow, and what we had of our order was unsatisfactory. You do have to order & paidprior at the Shingle but you get very fresh food, great hot coffee & tea, good service and the place is keep very clean with tables being cleared usually quickly after each customer (a pet hate with seeing dirty dishes on tables). The outside tables along with the long upholster bench seat has a Parisienne feel!

Good service from friendly staff. Small menu of sweet and savory food. Good for a quiet chat or break from your shopping
