Popped in for a couple of pints as the real ale festival was on. Good selection getting on for about 20 ales on. But I discovered a fantastic couple of beers from Stangers brewing , Linlithgow. So I ended up having 2 pints Strangers narrowboat ipa which was head and shoulders above anything else on offer. Hope they make this microbrewery a regular addition to their guest ale selections.
Let’s face it, people come to Wetherspoons for the prices. This one is actually a pleasant place to be and the staff were brilliant. Couldn’t fault it.
Situated in a beautiful historic listed building (used to be a bank). Plenty of space tables and some in smaller anti-rooms off the main area. Service was quick and efficient, and more importantly it was friendly and smiley! The food was pretty decent, a lot better than some pricier pubs I have been to. Only criticism is that it could benefit from some air conditioning m, but otherwise no complaints at all.
Been a fan of this bar for 25 years. Sadly today, cheeky manager, cheeky staff. I will not set foot in the place ever again. I got chat back off the staff. Slovenly lazy staff. Can't be bothered at all. Well 25 years, in the place lost my custom and family friends. Adios!
