Hanley Farm Shop - Forest of Dean

First visit in two years and was not disappointed. Our lunch was very tasty and nicely presented. Sat by the lovely fire and was very cosy

I recently visited Hanley Farm shop to have a look around the festive market and get some snacks from the farm shop, as I had friends visiting that evening. I spent £30 on some nibbles and was a bit shocked at the total,l but thought 'that 's expensive, but it will be good quality '. The box of mince pies was nearly £5 for 6 and they were so crumbly, they just fell apart when trying to remove them from the foil case. Also, where they had holes in the top, the juice from the filling had leaked all over the tray. What an expensive mess! The Broad Beans snacks which were nearly £4 a bag, were tasteless and inedible. A member of my family nearly choked on one because it was so dry. They were like chewing cardboard, although I can imagine cardboard would probably be easier to eat! The other snacks were underwhelming and therefore really overpriced for the quality of the product. On the way back to the car park, I also noticed the condition of the smoking shelter on site. There were hundreds of cigarette ends and litter all over the floor it was a disgusting sight and really let the place down. If you are going to put a smoking shelter on site, at least keep it clean and tidy, especially as it is right by the electric charging point for all to see, even the non smokers on their way past. Wont be returning.

Stopped in for lunch with family.3 of us. Food was excellent, hot and tasty and staff were really friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Will be back. Well worth a visit.

I took my girls for a treat and we ordered milk shakes and cakes! Service was great and the staff were very friendly. Defo coming back

I was surprised to see negative reviews about this charming restaurant. Our dining experience there was exceptional. The food was delicious and generous, and the staff were all incredible - friendly, polite, welcoming, and helpful. Laura, who served us, was outstanding - if she isn't the manager, she definitely should be! It seemed like there were many regular customers, as Laura knew their names and they knew her, adding to the delightful atmosphere. The shop also had a variety of tempting biscuits, cakes, and other food products. We highly recommend this place.
