I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich but received a spicy smoked sausage sandwich instead. While I enjoy spicy food, I have ulcers, so I couldn’t eat much of it. The beans and potato salad were of good quality, but they were almost tasteless since they were not seasoned. Overall, I'm open to giving this place another shot because the food was of good quality and the service was quick—just a disappointing first experience.
I ordered the plate with one side, which included brisket, cole slaw, pulled pork, and French fries. It came with a drink and your choice of toasted bread or cornbread. The pulled pork was excellent, while the brisket was just average. The prices were $12.99 for the brisket plate and $9.99 for the pulled pork plate. I would definitely return for the pulled pork and ribs, but not for the brisket.
First time coming here and I got the pulled pork sandwich. Yummm. The ?spicy? sauce was the only thing I?ll complain about because it tasted like Tabasco sauce but the ?hot? sauce was amazing!! Also got sweet potato fries those were so good especially with the cinnamon butter The onion rings were perfectly crispy as well Very satisfied
EDITED!!! 7/9/22 AS PROMISED TO DAN the owner.. please read. Went through the drive through at lunch today. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich combo. I asked for, and it was printed on my receipt for 2 sweet sauces. I got back to work, ready to eat what I THOUGHT was going to be a good meal, only to find I had NO SAUCE AT ALL.. No napkins, no plastic ware.. LUNCH IS RUINED!! Who eats plain pulled pork?!! I called and spoke to Kaylie (sp? , who took my number and was to have ?Joe ? call me.. SHE immediately called me back and said they don?t give refunds for forgetting sauces!! Excuse me?!! My man has always thought this place was nasty, and I gave them a chance. I should have listened to him when he told me how awful the brisket was. Don?t waste your . Poor food and EXTREMELY poor customer service. THIS IS THE EDIT TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. Dan Liebman the owner reached out to me. I emailed him and he sent an EXTREMELY thoughtful and responsible response. He also sent me a 25 gift card and asked to give me them another chance. I didn?t ask for the card, but I appreciate his willingness to have a satisfied customer. I WILL try Staxx again. He exemplified to me that my experience was NOT normal for his restaurant, and he deserves another shot.
