The Gourmet Hangi Kitchen And Kiwi Fish Chips Franz Josef Glacier

Kiwi street dining at its finest! Hangi Gourmet Kitchen in Franz Josef, New Zealand, was a delightful surprise! The fish and chips were succulent, coated in a crispy secret recipe batter, with the chips being almost addictive. The tender fried squid was also a highlight, and the menu offered a wide selection of non-seafood options. The service was quick and friendly, and the dining area was inviting. This place truly competes with the best food truck experiences in the USA!

We stopped by this restaurant on my birthday while passing through town, and it turned out to be a great choice since there were no other takeout options nearby (we had just splurged on a heli-hike, so I didn't want to spend too much on a fancy dinner!). The service we received was wonderful; the gentleman who attended to us was incredibly friendly. The fish burger he prepared for each of us was absolutely amazing—delicious and generously portioned. To this day, we still rave about how fantastic it was. If you find yourself in the area, do your taste buds (and your wallet) a favor and check out this place!

This is easily one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. The guys are fantastic too. I highly recommend it; I would rate the fish burger 8 stars!

Beer burger and fish were great! Cheap, honest kiwi food in an otherwise tourist town. Get on it!

Been hanging for blue cod in NZ and was NOT DISAPPOINTED. Great food great friendly service wish we were staying here longer but I’ll be back.
