Decided to try this new place. I ordered an early piece of burrito... with ham! the burrito and the red chili are good! the chai tea was hot but pissed! overall, quite satisfied.
There are a few areas that need improvement: first, the espresso machine is a single-group model, which isn't ideal for handling a high volume of customers. Additionally, the espresso shots need to be calibrated and timed properly, as they tasted excessively watery and burnt. There was no crema to speak of, and the shots were quite ashy. It’s somewhat disappointing for a cafe to label itself as a coffee shop while lacking proper equipment and calibration techniques. Despite these technical issues, I understand this is a new venture. It seems the current operator may not yet have a full understanding of how to create quality espresso drinks. I’m uncertain if I’ll give this place another try anytime soon, especially with the current prices for coffee. Perhaps I’ll revisit in about a year, especially if they invest more in their product. I want to extend them the benefit of the doubt, as we all have to start somewhere. Please know that my feedback is meant to help rather than to discourage; it’s aimed at assisting the owner in realizing where improvements can be made. As I mentioned, everyone starts somewhere, and I truly hope to see growth from this business. Best of luck to Kool Beanz, and to those looking for a great coffee experience!
I have been there about 5 times trying to give them a chance, this last time was the worst. I went by about 15min before I needed to be at work, I was 5min late to work. It took 20min to get one drink. I wanted to drive off but I had already paid $5 for a drink which was watered down because it had been made but was just sitting there melting. I enjoy shopping local, but there needs to be a change. Staff needs to know how to make every drink quickly and eficiantly. Food and drinks needs to be made and delivered in a timely manor. I have been a barista, I understand that specialty drinks can be confusing, make a list of how to make each drink and hang it up. Serve one customer at a time and follow through until they are happy!
Worst place to get coffee in Gallup, NM. Do not waste your time and money here. My Mentmore Mocha was a local joke and my husband 's Death Wish Frappe surely made him wish for death. Drive past this joint and hit up Glenn 's or Blunt Bros if you want actual SPECIALTY COFFEE DRINKS.
