I am not a fancy diner or foodie as you would say, I just like good food. This place had good food and great service. Our server was awesome and she gave us all the details of the menu. We tried many things on the menu and everything was delicous. We had the corn, cauliflower, gazpacho, octopus sourdough to start. Then we shared the Campenelle Verde pasta with shrimp their special pasta of the day which was rigatoni sausage and their other special of the day which was white fish and all were absolutely delish. We ended with their yummy homemade vanilla bourbon chocolate ice creams and their shortcake type dessert. I can't say enough great things about this place. I'm so glad I met Chef Kelly on the plane going to Santa Rosa by chance. All she said was she worked there and I should try it and I'm glad we did. We didn't even know she was a chef there. She was amazing!
Let's start with the billing issue. I noticed that my credit card was charged $147.05, while my actual invoice was $67.05, and I remember adding an $8 tip. I am reporting this fraudulent charge to my credit card company. In my life, I have never experienced a restaurant fraudulently charging my card. Now, regarding the pizza, it was the worst I’ve ever had. The bread, which is the cornerstone of authentic Italian pizza, was badly burned and not fully fermented. The pizza sauce was sour, and the cheese and basil were tasteless. It was a complete disrespect to Italian cooking, nowhere near a decent Italian pizza. The price for a small 12-inch pizza with such poor quality was $30, which is outrageous. To be fair, this pizza shouldn’t cost more than $10. Lastly, the restaurant itself was disappointing. The space was tight and lacked any decent view. People dress up just to sit next to the bathroom in a cramped and crowded area. I really don’t understand why. See pictures for your reference.
This restaurant in this quaint little town was one of our favorites! Service was great ….and oh my the food! I would fly back to the West Coast again just to have that bread! We ordered the chicken one the best chicken dishes we have ever had. The pasta with shrimp was just beautiful! Great open kitchen concept one of our favorite meals from our trip!
Everything was very good. The atmosphere was nice too, very pleasant and relaxed. We hope to come back again next time we’re visiting Napa.
