Elmer's (gresham, Or) - Gresham

I worked as a line cook at this restaurant in the 80s. We served many satisfied customers who would travel up to 3 to 5 blocks just for our Sunday brunch. I was in charge of making eggs and worked alongside Mr. Bob Elmer. Everything was going well until one night, the dishwashers started a water fight and I ended up getting splashed with hot oil while emptying and cleaning the deep fryer. I got a few blisters on my face from the oil, but I managed to throw the pan before it landed on my leg. Unfortunately, this incident marked the end of my cooking career. Despite that, I still have fond memories of Bonnie Lee Parker and the great group of people I worked with.

The customer service at this restaurant is excellent and the food is absolutely amazing. The speck is delicious, definitely one of the best I've ever had. The French toast tastes just like your mom or grandma would make it, top notch. I would recommend this place any time. It reminds me of the classic breakfast and dinner spots that old school kitchens are known for. The prices are reasonable, which is impressive considering most restaurants tend to increase prices. This is the kind of place I can't wait to visit again when I'm back in town. 10/10.

The wait for basic items like drinks and coffee was extremely long at this restaurant. It took a significant amount of time for the table to be served and even longer for a second cup of coffee to be brought out. The service was slow and inconsistent, leading to frustration among customers. Additionally, the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant left much to be desired. Overall, the dining experience was disappointing and did not live up to expectations.

Absolutely horrible. Service has gone down hill and now they don't do pick up orders.. With covid going around you think they would have pick up for customers.. Heidi's still offers great service and has take out orders for customers. Highly recommend going there instead.

Food was decent and arrived in good time. Waitress really seemed like she was having a bad dat or really didnt care much for her job, even dropped off the obviosuly wrong ticket at checkout (we were a party of 2, 1 being a kiddo) and the ticket dropped off was for a table of atleast 8 (due to being 8 entrees amd 3 appetizers on the ticket)
