Tom Yum Koong - Hasbrouck Heights

I have been to this restaurant multiple times and the food is consistently delicious. Unfortunately, I have experienced the inconvenience of it being closed even during their posted hours of operation. The service I received was rated a 1 out of 5.

The food at this restaurant is good, but the staff is inattentive. Once they bring your food, you may not see them again unless you flag someone down, possibly due to understaffing. It is frustrating that they close between 3:30 and 4:30 after opening at noon. It's disappointing to Google the restaurant at 2:00pm, see it's open, and then arrive at 4:00pm to find it closed for a break with staff chatting inside. Hiring more staff and staying open during regular hours would improve the service. Overall, the food is rated a 5, service a 3, atmosphere a 3. Parking can be somewhat difficult, with free street parking as an option. The price per person is $30-50 for a dinner meal.

I absolutely loved the food at this restaurant! They have a great selection of vegetarian options. The service was excellent and we dined in for dinner. The price per person is between $20-30. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the steamed dumplings, they were delicious!

Before we lived together my fiancee lived down the block from this place. Once we tried it it was all either of us wanted for a meal out. I must've tried a dozen different dishes and all the apps and was never let down. We've since moved away, but always look for reasons to stop by on our way back home. Still haven't found a place that comes even close to Tom Yum for Thai in the state.
