The Plough Inn - Hope Valley

Lovely pub with extra effort put into the menu. Nice and quite, good atmosphere.

The food was the best we e had at a country pub. My lamb was succulent and tasty, and there was a good portion of it. The vegetables were delicious and the wine list varied. Plenty of space too.

The meal was disappointing and rather pricey. The shared terrine was not very tasty and served with uninteresting 'salad ' and toast. '£8 for a mediocre dessert in a pub doesn 't seem good value either. Main courses were better with pink lamb but the fish was served with no starch side dish.

The lunch was excellent as always. Rated 5 out of 5 for rooms, service, and location. Hotel highlights include great value for the price.
