It's like going back in time. The place is so old school. It's always busy but it's always worth the wait. If you have never been there you must give it a try.

Classic food. I always enjoy going, mostly because I want a jar of mustard. 4 stars because even with the classic factor, the sandwiches ate all relatively plain. Don't get me wrong, I highly enjoyed the double dipped beef dip like I've done many times in years past... I'm rating lower because there's not much to them for the price. Literally meat and bread. Also the last who served us was quite rude and blunt. Not talkative at all, simply took my order, then started chatting with the lady next to her. I don't need a conversation but at least semi acknowledge me. Kid-friendliness: Pretty much non-existent.

The line is always long but it’s worth it. Good dipped sanwhiches. Lemonaidand beef dip are classic.

We love Philippe's. It's the best and home of the dip sandwich. Beef is a staple, but the pastrami is my newest favorite. I recommend the baked apple for dessert.
