They were almost out of donuts when we got there at 2PM. Maybe it's just our taste buds, but we were surprised that there are so many franchises because the donuts were definitely below par. The apple fritter was somehow dry AND greasy, and left a film of lard on our tongues... Wish we'd wasted those calories at Tim Horton's... Sorry PEI, we really love you, we realise this place holds some sentimental value. One thing we did appreciate was that it seemed to be a local hangout.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast and were more than satisfied: eggs, bacon/sausage, home fries, toast and jam - quick, tasty, and none of the nasty "after-effects" that sometimes follow this kind of meal. We will certainly eat there again.

Miles above Tim Hortons!!It's where you go to meet the locals...it is a bit of a throwback with the smoking area on the side (too bad the prevailing wind is from the northwest). Good doughnuts an pasteries...like any cafe ; order the special and keep the cook happy. Lots of parking
