Fat Cat Deli - Kingston

What a fantastic find! I stopped by for breakfast and my family tried the strawberry glitz (crepes), a three-egg breakfast, and a breakfast burrito, all of which were delicious! We also took a sticky bun to go, and it was probably the best I've ever had. You have to try this place! They make their pastries fresh every day.

Let's be honest: the real highlights are the scones (definitely have them with butter and jam) and the Scotch eggs. I visited on a Sunday and sampled a large portion of the menu, though unfortunately, there were too many pies and pastries for me to try them all. There's a nice blend of Colorado and English cuisine; I don't think huevos rancheros and Colorado chili are typical dishes back in England just yet. But that's probably a good thing: locals can enjoy familiar favorites while visitors can experience a mix of Colorado and English dishes all in one brunch. The owner, Sally, is extremely friendly and makes an effort to engage with guests, and there’s enough staff to ensure that the food supply doesn’t run out on the weekends (I haven't been there on a weekday). If only she could convince a few of her English friends to come to the States and open more English restaurants, as there aren't many around. While iced tea is highlighted at the front, they also serve hot tea, so you can enjoy a proper cuppa. If coffee is more your thing, Sally respects your caffeine preferences as well. The decor leans more towards a cozy Colorado vibe than traditional English, but that’s perfectly fine—cats are lovely! There’s even a British flag out front, which caught my eye and made me realize I had to try this place.

This is a fantastic restaurant in Granby, offering exceptional service and homemade dishes made from scratch! Sally and Gary, the owners, are incredibly warm and engaging, always ready for a pleasant chat. The food is truly remarkable. We visited on a Sunday for their buffet and enjoyed huevos rancheros, scotch eggs, crispy bacon, perfectly cooked sausage, and a delightful selection of desserts. It clearly has the charm of a local favorite. I highly recommend Fat Cat!
