As always, the service was outstanding; the dining room staff was attentive, friendly with regulars, and checked in on all the guests. It's an amazing local spot with excellent food and fantastic service!
The mushroom Swiss burger was fantastic, but my wife wasn't as keen on the Cajun chicken sandwich. The fries, however, were really good. The Volunbeer was fine, but it wasn't one of their own brews. Also, the menus we were given were quite outdated; they had old prices that didn't correspond to what we were charged. There were discrepancies like $8.50 versus $11 on some items.
What do you do when you run into an old friend in a new city? You go out for lunch! She suggested a hidden gem near her home and my brother's new place. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating and ample parking. They're especially known for their hamburgers, and the menu features some intriguing options! I also discovered that Knoxville is famous for its steamed sandwiches. Can't decide which one to try? Just get both and share! We ordered the turkey steamed sandwich with smoked cheddar cheese, accompanied by a pickle spear, and it was delicious! We also had The Haystack, which is topped with hickory smoked bacon, American and provolone cheeses, and crispy fried onion straws. The fries were great too. I would definitely eat here again!
