La Marmite du Sud - Le Grau-du-Roi

We had lunch there a few days ago and I was a bit skeptical bout the kind of for we would be served. I just don't trust too much these marina's restaurant which usually serve very average food for a non so average price.In the case of La Marmite, I must admit I was positively surprised and we hate pretty well for a reasonable price.

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years, and after the awful experience we had in the L'Amarette a few nights ago , decided to give this place a visit . What a difference !! We were greeted warmly by the gentleman in reception, the gentleman who served us, and the young waitress. We were asked if we needed any help with the menu, and when my husband ordered the Beef, it was explained to him that it was Cooked on one side and raw on the other, to make sure he understood his order. My veal was delicious , and cooked to my liking . Both starters and sweets were good also . We were very happy to realise, that French hospitality is still alive and well, and our experience of a couple of nights ago was just a one off!! Thank You all for a very enjoyable evening

Had a really nice meal here. Chicken and pepper brochettes, pizzas and steak. Quality of food was good and salads nice. Service was very efficient and friendly. Also this year no mosquitoes which is a big plus!!

We were 2 couples, and were looking for a decently priced evening meal along the yacht harbour. Many of the cafes/restaurants seemed over priced to us, and we settled on the Marmite. It offered a 16.90€ midday and evening menu, not including drinks.A la carte main courses varied from 10 - 28€. The wines were reasonably priced, although there was no house wine.We chose the menu du jour; There was enough choice for us all to have different entrees, mains & deserts.The food was very good, not huge proportions, but big enough to satisfy everyone.The staff were attentive, pleasant, and helpful.They replenished the bread when the bread basket was emptied, without being asked!Would we go back- yes!

We were seduced by the outdoor BBQ and menu selection. We waited an eternity and noticed that there was a panic at the bbq. Eventually the food came but was a disaster. None of the meats were cooked the way we asked. My BBQ steak ( at 20 euros) was small, full of fat, badly cooked, and more steamed than bbq'ed. Other items promised on the menu were not delivered. To add insult to injury, the waiter insulted us. In short a tourist trap, stay away.
