However, my husband was disappointed with the beer selection, as he prefers local options, and there weren't any available. I enjoyed a delicious glass of Pinot Noir. The calamari was quite good, featuring a light breading dusted with Parmesan and served with a really great marinara sauce. The rolls were the highlight of the meal—soft, homemade, and bursting with fantastic garlic butter flavor. I would have preferred a whipped homemade butter instead of the cheap packets provided, but dipping the rolls in the marinara was a delightful touch. Each meal includes a house salad, which was a nice addition, though it mostly consisted of iceberg lettuce and was over-dressed. Next time, I’ll request the dressing on the side. The freshly grated cheese on the salad was definitely a saving grace. The lasagna was flavorful, but the portion was small and it wasn’t as thick as typical lasagnas. It fell apart when I tried to cut it, which was unusual, but it was very cheesy and delicious. Unfortunately, the chicken piccata was the disappointing part of the meal. I hesitate to mention anything negative given how enjoyable our experience was, but the chicken was overcooked and tough, lacking tenderness. The sauce was decent, but I believe it would pair better with angel hair pasta instead of spaghetti. I likely wouldn’t order this dish again and might skip anything with chicken in the future. As newcomers to the area, we plan to explore other local Italian restaurants before returning here, but we definitely intend to come back and try some different dishes in the future.
