Mar Belo Portuguese /lounge

This restaurant has to be Long Branch's best-kept secret. The food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is incredible, complemented by impeccable service. The menu is fantastic, and the staff provides thoughtful suggestions. The skirt steak is a must-try, and I really enjoyed the sangria. I left feeling satisfied, but not overly full or uncomfortable.

Update: Mar Belo remains one of the top dining spots at the Jersey Shore. Last night, I tried their dessert menu for the first time, and it was fantastic. We had the rice pudding and flan. Although they might not be new dishes, I loved that they offer a half pitcher of sangria. If you're looking to socialize, it’s always a good time at the bar!

I grew up in Spain and I have to say, this restaurant is fantastic! The mussels are incredible! The paella is tasty, though I wish they used short-grain rice. The octopus is excellent! This was only our second visit, so we haven't tried many other dishes yet. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and the value is excellent. I highly recommend it! Oh, and the sangria is really, really good too!

It was our first time at Mar Belo. The food and service were outstanding. We will definitely be back.

Our first sub par meal was Tuesday 9/6. Restaurant was quiet. We ordered an appetizer, waited 20 minutes and it was served barely warm. We said something to a manager. Our entrees were served hot and were very good, not great. I love the espressocreme brulee. It was served cold. Just disappointing. When we made the reservation, they asked if we were celebratinganything. We told them it was my birthday and they never acknowledged it. Why ask then?? No excuses for this. There are too manyexcellent restaurants in the area.
