Tuscan Pig Italian Kitchen - Longview

I have dined at some of the finest Italian restaurants in New York and Chicago, but I believe the best Italian restaurant is actually in Longview, Texas: the Tuscan Pig. My favorite dish there is the Eggplant Parmigiana—it's simply unmatched! The service is top-notch, the food is absolutely fabulous, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I'm always grateful for the unique dining experience they offer in an ambience that is truly exceptional.

I ordered the eggplant parmesan and while the service was good, the dish did not justify its price of over $50. The eggplant had a cardboard-like texture and was smothered in cheese. I've had much better at Carrabba's and Olive Garden. I also requested an olive-based bread dip, but I was let down by the spice mix—it didn't taste authentic Italian at all. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

The food is excellent, and the owner makes a point to visit each table. We had a wonderful dining experience.
