The Wave in Johnsburg. Arrived Friday night 6:30. Asked to wait twenty minutes even though there were ten empty tables. Seated at 6:45 after we were forgotten to be seated. Ordered food and drinks at 7:00. 7:30 still no drinks, half hour for wine, water not acceptable. Had to ask where are drinks and water were. Finally at 8:00 food came, over one hour for hamburgers. Asked for extra ranch and got the ranch as we were leaving. Food excellent, service zero. When brought to managers attention, we are short staffed and having problems. If you know staff is going back to school you don't wait to hire people so your service suffers. Not one table was bussed to have dishes cleaned. Nothing better than seeing dirty dishes at the tables while eating. The manager there is a clueless with zero customer service skills. That is phrased nicely. Two weeks ago fantastic, after today don't think I would ever go back. Was considering ordering a pizza for delivery to the Wave. My party wouldn't allow me to do so. The manager and wait staff zero skills. If you want to wait for no reason for hours, this is the place for you. One star due to poor management and poor service. Seriously it was a total complete joke with no concern on management behalf.

This is the new breaded wing recipe? We are not getting wings here anymore. Serious decrease in quality overtime here. They must have a new cook here. Not good. Seventh or eighth time here for trivia and it gets progressively worse. Hell no. There are a lot of other places to play Trivia. This is likely our last time here after these horrible wings. This place has so much potential, but it 's seriously bad. Lastly, they put us in the middle of non-trivia players and we can 't hear the trivia announcer.. It 's not the servers. Service is fine. It 's on the restaurant and the so-called chef . Weak.

Food is a step above for the Chain. 3-cheese grilled cheese with truffle fries $1.50 add-on) were good. Beer mac n cheese was rich, but good. Wedge salad was romaine instead of iceberg. All food was overpriced. Service was poor. Waitress seemed inexperienced and couldn't multitask. Bring one drink, go back, bring missing silverware, go back, bring partial food order. Took 20 minutes to get and pay the bill, even when we went inside to the bar. Waitress dropped credit card out of the pad twice. Boat parking is protected from the river washing machine in a small harbor. Docks are standard for the Chain, old and rickety. New cleats are pulling out of the wood. Hotel looks interesting, although left by the main desk and got no attention by who looked like the owner. Hope the place makes it, but the rest of the property needs to be redone or raized.

Oops! Should have checked the reviews before coming here tonight. Horrible service, food selection limited, quality mediocre, clientele at the bar over served. Hoping to get back on the water before the guys at the bar do.

Decided to stop in and check out this relatively new place. I really like that the owners are gentrifying this hotel even though I'm not sure if their business model is solid. Regardless it is good to see something old become new again. Anyway, I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and was seated outside. Their patio is by the river, so you can see the boats go by, which on a hot Saturday is like a major water expressway. Our waitress was very nice but you could tell she was very new, not just to the restaurant but to serving in general. But what she lacked in experience she made up in charm. I believe what they are doing is making the wave bar a little more upscale so the drinks are a bit more expense than other places in Johnsburg but I'm not complaining. The food came out very quickly and was actually pretty good. Overall I would recommend trying the Wave Bar. What I liked about it was the atmosphere on the river, the clean new feeling of the place, and the fact that they are attempting to cater to a higher end clientele. You can tell the place is new and they are still working out some bugs but overall a very pleasant experience.
