Mehzcla - Miami Beach

The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, and the service from Lucia was outstanding.

We had brunch here on Mothers Day. My husband and I live in the neighborhood and saw that the restaurant was new and so the occasion was a good excuse. My daughters and I had the most amazing and delicious brunch! They had everything you could imagine from delicious shrimp cocktail, hot dishes, salads, fruits, desserts and so much more! I was very impressed with the casual elegance of the hotel dining area. Chef Steve came to our table to greet us and told us about their specials during the week as well. He is very enthusiastic about his role there and we loved meeting him. The wait staff was excellent too. We will be back again soon to try some of their other fare and drinks. It is nice to have such a wonderful venue on the block in our neighborhood!

Highlights of our meal included the pork belly, which was outstanding. I've had plenty of pork belly before, and this one really stood out. The pitcher of sangria was also lovely. As a delightful surprise, our server chased after us as we left to give us two cups of sangria to take with us—what a treat! The yucca fritters with chimichurri aioli were exceptional, too; they were cooked just right—not too hard or stringy, unlike what I've experienced at other places. One downside: I’d recommend skipping the avocado frisée salad. A fun tip: you definitely need to check out the bathroom—washing your hands will be an experience, as the shower head used as a faucet is quite unconventional!

I visited the restaurant for dinner to try the Miami Spice menu, but I was disappointed to find out that all dessert options were sold out. The only choice offered was chocolate cake with ice cream, which was a letdown, especially since one of our guests cannot eat chocolate. When we asked to substitute the dessert for another appetizer, our request was promptly denied. I believe if a restaurant is going to promote the Miami Spice menu, they should ensure that all meal components are available. The food itself was decent, but nothing exceptional.

This restaurant found a way to hack the review system. The environment is not nice. Inside it smells bad. Outside it is hot and fans don't work. The food is 2/5. Dry, lacks flavor. The service is slow. I don’t belive they could receive 5 star reviews.
