I am a traveler across Canada, and I went by myself to dine at one of Canada's top 100 and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! From service to food I was enthralled. I dined solo and I sat at the bar, It was an exceptional pleasure to watch the chefs at work. The crudo was amazing, but the real stunner was the meat pie. It invoked a visceral reaction within me and could not hold back tears as I ate the pork shoulder and rabbit meat pie. The service was stellar and I would recommend to any solo traveler, go to MP and watch the kitchen team pump out amazing dishes from the bar. It is unconventional, and if you don't like that, get lost! I loved my time and thank you chef for the baked oyster and the shot. I will send everyone I know there, and congrats for staying on Canada's top 100. I believe you should rank closer based on my experience. Forever grateful. <3
Food was amazing! Small plates to share are my fave! Folks there were attentive to when we finished a plate and then quickly brought another out, such excellent service!! The owner was helping out around the restaurant and he was really nice and on point with his service as well. Super friendly guy over there! I def recommend this spot!
Fantastic eating experience here, we made reservations about 2 weeks in advance and only early or late times were available. We arrived right at opening time (6pm and it was already buzzing. They have a chalkboard/index card menu in the middle of the restaurant so if you can’t see it from your table, you just have to take a picture to study! The dishes are pretty much tapas style (but slightly bigger portions so we got 4 things to share asparagus, baked oyster, calamari, and gnocchi with morels (see details below . Everything was delicious, especially the baked oyster, which is their signature dish and indeed quite unique in preparation, taste and presentation! Ambience was very laid back and fun, the bathroom was very dark though (watch out for the step down , staff was very friendly and knowledgeable but service was quite slow (so don’t come here when you’re in a rush! . Definitely recommend!Asparagus the garlic aioli is one of the best ever, perfectly creamy, I could just eat it on its own. Asparagus was tender and delicious as well especially with crunchy bread crumbs on top.Baked oyster this is a MUST HAVE. So special and unique and amazingly flavored. Even if you don’t like marmite, don’t let that turn you off!Gnocchi with morels the morels especially were delicious and the sauce was excellent with crispy sage on top. Didn’t love the peas.Calamari I almost always order calamari so I’m kinda an authority on this topic. And these were good but not super special and not the most tender (certainly beats the fried version though, and the capers and sauce were a nice touch .
Parfait de foie gras, Pappardelle Ragu Bianco, Porc et Fenouil and wine. ?Sadly, this restaurant in the top 100 best restaurants in Canada will be closed in 6 days ?
Great food with some original ideas. We were especially impressed by the vegetatarian dishes, they outshone the meat options in our opinion, although they were delicious too. Attentive service, will definitely come agai!
