Tropical Smoothie Cafe - MURRELLS INLET

This cafe chain serves a variety of smoothies, flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches, and bowls in a clean and trendy strip mall environment. I tried the Chia Banana Boost, which is a smooth and sweet blend of bananas, whole grain oats, almonds, chia seeds, cinnamon, coconut, and a choice between peanut butter or strawberries. I opted for the strawberries and skipped the dates. The Ultimate Club was impressive, loaded with freshly sliced ham, turkey, and bacon, along with Swiss and Parmesan cheese, tomatoes, and chopped romaine, all drizzled with a tangy chipotle mayo on toasted ciabatta bread.

I truly wanted to give this restaurant a fair opportunity. However, the wait times in the drive-thru are ridiculous! I saw several customers leaving without having eaten. If you choose to visit, I strongly recommend placing your order inside instead of from your car.

I really like this restaurant, but it seems the staff has a hard time keeping up with the demand. There are always long waits, and it feels like online orders are prioritized over in-store and drive-thru customers. In my last three visits, something has gone wrong every time. Considering how much I spend on each visit, this level of service is just unacceptable!

I had an excellent experience at the Murrell's Inlet location today. While the wait times in the past were somewhat frustrating, the customer service has consistently been outstanding. Today, Jaime Lyn was particularly exceptional—so friendly and always smiling. I also received my order promptly.

I don't typically voice complaints, but there's a pressing need for improvement at this restaurant. I visit twice a week, and there's always some sort of problem. The staff appears to be mostly young and seems to be overwhelmed. Each time I go, there's rarely a manager on duty; everyone looks dissatisfied, and the young employees don't seem to be enjoying their work. While I understand that it’s just a job, the level of responsibility placed on these young workers is quite significant, especially considering how chaotic the lines can become. I do recognize their hard work, but my orders are often incorrect. Just recently, I waited half an hour only to be informed that they were out of ice! The overall atmosphere here feels quite disorganized, and I honestly have concerns about its future.
