-b-que House - Oak Island

During my first visit to BBQ House last November, I ordered a brisket sandwich and enjoyed it on my way back to Greensboro. I was fortunate to return to the Oak Island area, and this time my friend ordered takeout. I got the brisket again, and I have to say, it's the best brisket I've ever had! The sides I chose were greens and mac and cheese, which were also fantastic. The sauce was exceptional as well. I have some leftovers, and I'm already looking forward to enjoying them tomorrow!

If you find yourself in Oak Island, this restaurant is a must-visit for barbecue lovers! My family adores this place. Each time we go, we make sure to eat here and even take some barbecue home. It's absolutely delicious! Due to COVID-19, we weren't able to dine in this time, which is completely understandable.

My family and i go to oak island every year for a family vacation. Due to the recent hurricane, we had to move our vacation to another beach (which we like but we were really looking forward to OKI and the Bar-B-Que House). We drove 40 minutes from another beach to get takeout at what was our favorite restaurant and while the food was delicious, we had some issues. Upon asking for their staple honey butter with our order, we were brushed off and told it was “already in the bag”. Which, after another 40 minutes back to our vacation spot we discovered was missing. My brother also ordered a $5 salad and was given not even half the small to-go containers worth. The food was still good but we were surprisingly disappointed with the service today which is why they lost a star.

The food was excellent, service was good, price was fair. The sandwiches had less meat on them than some competitors who may not be a bad thing, depending on how much you like to eat. The sides were plentiful. We were pulled pork and brisket, would also recommend. The Mac-n-Cheese was perhaps the best I ever had. The lush puppies were crispy and delicious!
