It also came with egg, a small amount of tofu, bean sprouts, and green onions. As for the Chicken Satay ($10 for 5 pieces), the chicken was tender and had that classic smoky BBQ flavor. The peanut sauce was incredibly tasty, and the addition of cucumber added a nice, refreshing crunch. The Chicken Curry with Roti Canai ($14.90) was delightful! The roti canai was a bit oily but very soft and flaky. The curry was authentically flavored, loaded with large pieces of chicken—some of which were slightly dry, but still bursting with flavor. We will definitely be returning to this fantastic little eatery!
We ordered the Malaysian Fried Chicken, Char Kuey Teow, fish head rice noodles, and curry puffs. I ended up taking a small box of Char Kuey Teow home for lunch the next day because I simply couldn't stop eating. The fried chicken is deboned for you, which is fantastic, and it's served in a delicious lemongrass sauce that doesn’t sacrifice the crispiness of the chicken. The curry puffs were a bit greasy, and the pastry was slightly soggy, but I still enjoyed them. The noodle soup was great, and the broth was just right! The noodles didn’t taste like fresh rice noodles, but that’s not a major issue. I truly loved the Char Kuey Teow as well. I can't wait to return and try more items from the menu. Just a tip: if you're planning to come during peak hours, be sure to make a reservation or arrive a bit earlier or later to secure yourself a spot.
We visit this restaurant for the Hainanese Chicken Rice almost every two weeks. It feels just like home! The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. This is definitely a must-try!
This was our second time here and nothing has changed, the food was still great and the taste was authentic similar to the dishes I had when I was still living in Malaysia. This establishment is located in Mokoia Road in Birkenhead, it’s a small establishment so make sure you reserve a seat when you want to dine in at peak hours.
I have tried their take away Hainan chicken, fried tofu and marmite pork. Very generous on the portion serving. Too far away from my home, if not, will be visited regularly!
