Bubba-q's - Ottumwa

I ordered a half ham for Christmas. It came in the pan already sliced and seasoned and with reheating instructions. It was delicious! Not a single complaint. The general consensus before eating was ‘It’s from Bubba-Q’s. It’s gotta be good!’ This was my first time ordering the meat for a holiday, but it will not be the last! Service: Takeaway

The food was excellent, their sauce was amazing! The corn and potato salad were copy cat worthy. So good. Thank you Dietary restrictions: The gluten free Mac and cheese was better than I’ve ever had! Kid-friendliness: The kids loved it too. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

This place is phenomenal! DO NOT miss it. The all star here of course is the smoked meats (I can vouch for Brisket, Chicken, Sausage and Burnt Ends, all excellent! . But bubba's makes their own sauces and rubs, so that is even better. The sides were remarkable too! Potato Salad, Mac n Cheese and John Deere Corn were all worth the stomach space. I heard great things about their desserts but couldn't even consider them. Too full. My server was amazing. So helpful, pleasant, and speedy. Prices (believe it or not were just a little lower than I have seen at other BBQ places. Lots of space at the bar if you want to socialize or pick a booth to have a more focused setting. Wherever else you go in life, make sure Bubba Q's is toward the top of your list.

We really loved coming here, but the last few times the service hasn't been great. We asked for our salads before our meal, we received them 2 minutes before, which made our entrées cold. Didn't pick up any plates, and the one who did wasn't even our server, and as soon as our server noticed someone else doing her job she rushed right over. I had to stop her doing silverware to ask for the salads, and she didn't offer us any refills. It wasn't great. I don't like cold, hard crunchy burgers. Second time she's done this.
