Mimi's Taqueria - Ottumwa

I’m visiting and I’m really happy the reviews for this restaurant were spot on. Thank you, fellow Yelp reviewers! We arrived an hour before closing, and the service was excellent. They have an extensive menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. This is definitely authentic Mexican cuisine. I usually go for Al pastor when I order sopes, but the asada was a solid 10/10. The horchata was also fantastic; it’s surprising how many places don’t get it right.

Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor! I really enjoyed my fajita burrito. The portions were generous for most dishes. I would have appreciated a description on the menu to know the ingredients in each dish, but our waiter was more than happy to answer our questions. The food was very good. Chips and Salsa were disappointing. Chips out of a bag and salsa was thin and bland. Drink selection was the biggest disappointment I think. Probably won’t go back since there are better selections in town but our entrees were good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
