We walked to this restaurant and had a delicious meal of full fish with Thai sauce and seafood fried rice. It had an authentic Thai flavor that we really enjoyed. We will definitely come back before we leave. It's definitely worth a try!
Though the restaurant needs room for improvement, I did find it quite charming. The restaurant is on the rooftop. Colourful lighting and some background music adds to the ambience. We were offered a selection of both Indian and Thai food. Although the waiter got one of our orders wrong, the manager quickly rectified it. The fruit smoothies are refreshing, the chicken curry was average. All in all not bad.
The boss reprimanded staff in front of guests. Ordered chicken filet, our food was picked up somewhere and brought to restaurant in takeaway-boxes, then put on a plate in kitchen and served(cold).
Ao Nang is not my favorite place. However, if you find yourself here, Tom Yam is one of your better options when it comes to dining out. It is located off on a little side street and tucked into a residential neighborhood away from the tacky t-shirt stalls of the main drag. This is a small restaurant. Prices are reasonable and while the food was not the best that we had, it was good. You'll probably need reservations and a tuk tuk driver who knows the area pretty well.
