Mcgillin's Olde Ale House

What a wonderful lunch experience I had here with my friend. Her first time at this Olde drinking establishment which opened their doors in 1860!! The first floor creates an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness. A long wooden bar with a large seating area of wooden tables n chairs and walls filled with historic photos quotes and humorous sayings. Great atmosphere!!! The food is delicious!! My friend had the R.B. McGillen which she said was one of the best Roast beef sandwiches au jus for dipping)she ever had. I had Shepherds pie a ceramic bowl of sirloin beef with peas topped with mashed potatoes and one of the best I ever had!!! I tried O'Haras stoudt imported from Ireland.... that's right folks no Guinness!!! I may have found a new stoudt to drink. Won't know for sure until I have several more pints...lol. Can't wait to go back again!!!!

McGillin's is a truly historic venue. We brought some friends from overseas here during their one-day visit to Philadelphia, and they absolutely loved the Christmas decorations. The restaurant offers great holiday-themed cocktails, making it a fun spot to catch an Eagles game. Their wings are among the best in the city. It's often quite busy, so be prepared for potential wait times for seating.

It’s quite noisy inside, but that adds to the fantastic atmosphere. They offer excellent pub food, along with a great selection of drinks and beers at reasonable prices.

The oldest pub in Philadelphia! My aunts came to visit from Kansas City, and we chose to have lunch here. The food and service were both excellent.
