Tasquinha Da Paula - Porto

This family owned and ran restaurant is not far from the Cathedral. The food is excellent, and the Son who works there is a great guy. Food fresh as can be, and excellent. My triplets and I loved it. I strongly suggest making reservations.

No frills tavern reasonable priced meals. Their specialty seems to be bacalhau in 4 versions. Also on offer grilled squid and other seafood.

Our last night in Porto, we walked by this restaurant a few times, it was always full and we couldn’t get in. Light bulb moment!! Make a reservation! And so we did. Arrived at 7:30 and it was just us and Paula. A smiling, happy lady. We wound up ordering 1/2 litre of white and a 1/2 litre of red house wine. Very nice, we were happy. Price was very reasonable, we had bread, butter, a vegetable crepe( more like a tasty egg roll) a mixed salad and the crowning touch bacahlau braga. Everything was so good. Nice happy vibe, great food. The two of us shared it all and just managed to leave empty plates. I totally recommend this place and hope you enjoy it as much as we did

Very tasty dishes, in extremely good price. Ventilation is not very strong, after we left the restaurant our clothes smell like fried codfish. Owners, a couple, don't speak any foreign language and they are not so polite.

It's a small restaurant very close to Ruberia in the heart of old town. Seating is limited and so reserve ahead if you can. The staff speaks very good English and was very polite and helpful. we had soup, cod patty, cod fish dish and Hakka fish dish. we were allowed to swap fries for boiled potatoes. The soup was too salty (warning for those with high BP). Fish dishes were good and came with 2 potatoes each cut into halves. The house wine is inexpensive. The side bread came with butter and sardine paste. (one should apply butter first and then the sardine paste on top of it). Overall a good meal. A meal for two for 43 euros with house wine.
