It's modern and interesting with different types of decor and seating including outdoor seating,a couch, stool and table and the usual It took a while for the menu to come but food did come out at a reasonable rate The waitress showed us what to do with snails ???? and we liked it. If you didn't know take it out, leave it in the oil for a while then eat! The mains were disappointing My duck tasted like chicken! I'm still not sure! They put a lot of mash, though I liked it,it felt like it was there to make the meal look bigger than it is My partners chicken in mushroom sauce was ok,nothing special. And the side which was a potato bake was a little salty We tried the crepe,we liked the crepe skin but the ham and pineapple inside was just from the supermarket Overall it's just ok
A beautiful cozy feel kinda place.Perfect for a romantic outing. This was first time tasting French delicacy in a French Restaurent and it wasn't disappointing at all.Ordered for a ham based crepe filled with gazillion type of cheese..Will visit soon to try some more crepes.
Amongst the glut of asian and pub-food cuisine, I can tell you it was a relief to have something different for once! Gourmandise de Paris offers a nice variety of crepes, and a multitude of other main-style meals to satisfy that weird french craving we get from time to time. I keep going back for the lemon sugar crepes (Yes I have those for lunch, don’t judge me!!) and the board of meats, cheese and pickles. I’ve had trouble with the service a few times - between waiting forever to order, forgotten or incorrect items, or incorrect totals at payment. I’m either really unlucky or Gourmandise needs to scrub up a bit in that department. Otherwise, a refreshing inclusion to the Pyrmont dining scene.
A sweet little crepe place on Harris Street. The staff are all French in a good way! They were lovely and hospitable. Dining here in between lunch and dinner meant we didn't have a full menu to choose from but just the crepes and galettes menus which was perfect as that is why we came here in he first place! There was indoor and outdoor seating. They have a large selection of both the savoury and sweet types. The La Grande Monthanarde (raclette cheese, tasty cheese, caramelised onions, ham, potatoes, chorizo & salami) Galette (made with french buckwheat flour) was lovely and crisp. The filling was generous and you weren't left hungry. The La Hawaienne (ham, cheese & pineapple) Galette was also crisp with a smaller amount of filling but it tasted equally as nice. The dessert crepes were tempting so went with L'Antilliaise (butter, raw sugar, banana, flambee with rum & whipped cream). I wish I had taken a picture when it had flames on the grill but was too slow! The crepe itself was nice and bananas added a sweet touch to the dish.
