Gartenrast - Radenthein

I had heard of this restaurant from my ski instructor who is from nearby Radenthein. This restaurant humbly quotes best chicken place in town , and another Tripadvisor comment quoted Best chicken place in Austria . Therefore, we came to this restaurant with high expectations. The setting...is humble, a quaint design, although boasting a beautiful terrace overlooking the valley. The menu is interesting, quite creative, and stands out from other restaurants in the area. Mainly chicken based, although also caters for vegetarians (see picture of Veggie Chimichanga). I live in Hong Kong, and came to Radenthein on holiday, and I was 100% impressed. The chicken (free range) was sublime. I had the house special fried chicken while my dad had the chicken breast (my mother is vegetarian and had the Veggie Chimichanga). The meat was tender and tasty really blows away any fried chicken I had before. I highly recommend this place. It is simple, although maintains good quality. It is VERY popular, so make sure you book in advance! If possible, book a table on the terrace. 3 people: 1 mixed salad to share, 1 fried chicken, 1 grilled chicken breast, 1 veggie chimichanga, 2 desserts, sparkling water, red wine EUR 65.

This is the best chicken restaurant in Austria. The fried chicken is perfectly prepared. The house red wine is great. Get the rice with melted butter. All entres are great as well. The service is perfect, and they are very friendly here, and the restaurant...is very nicely decorated with fresh flowers.

We found this restaurant via TripAdvisor and we were more than satisfied. The place is quite big with many tables however this does not seem to have an negative effect on food quality and service. The food was excellent and fairly priced. The portions are...not too big which allows you to go for starter and dessert as well! Don't forget to book a place on the beautiful terasse early enough!

Finding this restaurant is a little bit hard as it's on the hilly slope uppon Radentheim. They are specialists for one of the best fried chicken in region. If you like sustainable idea and localy produced ingredients this is a place to visit. Above the...hill from the restaurant owners also have a brewery and their local Schilling Granat beer harmonise whatever you choose from the menu. Menu card is right long enough to choose. One of clasic option is fried pieces of a half of a chicken with french fries. But on last visit I've had a hamburger that was delicious: bread with sesame, big piece of grilled meet, slice of fried bacon, caramelised onion and homemade dip and fresh salad. Food has high quality standards which are the same for many years. Inside of restaurant is pretty, native alpine style and very pleasant, made with heart and feeling. Not to mention toilets: clean, fresh and stylish as they can be. Stuff speaks many languages and are very nice and kind. And important for us-dogs are wellcome. Definitely worth visiting this enjoyable place whenever you are near.
