Przekaż informację zwrotnąBernie's is the best-kept secret in Northeast Georgia. The service and food are absolutely fantastic. For instance, Rachel, the bartender, went above and beyond by handcrafting blue cheese-stuffed olives to create the perfect Tito's martini. The chefs are exceptional, and the food is wonderful. I can speak to this firsthand, as before COVID, I spent 75 to 100 nights a year traveling across the U.S. for work.
I absolutely love this place! The staff was amazing, and the food was delicious. I'm so glad we visited before they closed after 33 years. I'm sure both locals and guests will really miss them.
Wow! What an incredible find. This restaurant offers fine dining in a charming, rustic atmosphere. The French Onion soup is absolutely delicious—it's a must-try and easily the best I've ever had. Everything here is homemade, and you can really tell that no detail is overlooked. I enjoyed a vegetable Alfredo dish that was cooked to perfection, while my husband savored the Sirloin and loved every bite. Interestingly, this place also operates as a Bed and Breakfast. If we happen to be in the area again, we might just consider staying here!
I honestly don 't understand the rave reviews for this place. I can only figure older people with simple palettes. The food here was BLAND!!! I expected to be wowed from a place that is supposed to be casual fine dining. I understand this place is supposed to be French inspired. The rolls that started the meal already set things off on a bad note. Little square rolls that you can get at any meat and 2 veg around. I expected some form of really great French bread. My husband and I ordered cocktails. Not impressed. The Gimlet was straight lime juice. Puckered mine and another customers face on the first sip. I watched the lady in my sight line take her first sip and found it pretty amusing. I had the 45 dollar grouper. I love grouper but not this. Zero seasoning. Zero sauce. Zero flavor. Just a sautéed piece of fish nothing else. Served with corn pudding aka grits to anyone in the south. Not even polenta which would have probably been better. Two bland items put together. Then the sides. Ugh, undercooked French green beans and one piece of carrot. Basically raw vegetables because they weren 't sautéed long enough. My husband had the chicken Marsala. Edible but I 've had it much better elsewhere without having to pay for hype. At least the chicken was tender. Same horrible sides. Ah yes, when we first got our little square rolls there were 4. After waiting for quite a while for food a woman asked if we would like more bread while we wait. We said yes and she brought 2 rolls. How generous, meh. I 'm harsh in this review because I feel ripped off. I 've been fine dining and this isn 't it. I expect great flavor and good pairings. Doesn 't exist. It is also off putting that when you come in and wait to be seated, your staring right into the kitchen. There is always chaos in kitchens, good or bad, just doesn 't set the tone right off the rip. Now for the good part, our waitress was great and other servers around us seem to be very nice and attentive as well to their tables. Apparently someone of local importance was in that night because his table was especially getting fawned over. Needless to say, I will not be back.
A truly special place! The employees are so kind and welcoming from the second you walk in! Amazing family cottage feeling inside the restaurant. Matthew, our server, was excellent and very attentive. THE FRENCH ONION SOUP was SPECTACULAR! Caesar was nice and fresh as well. My boyfriend had the portabella sandwich which he loved as well. We were on a roadtrip and I am so glad i found this amazing spot!
