The Drunk Munk - Scottsdale

Great bar in the old town of Scottsdale. Loved the atmosphere and the huge mussel drink. Was a pretty night when we came, I'm sure it would be a fun place to go in a busy night.

As for the tiki cocktails, the Mojito and the dark ginger beer cocktail needed improvement. The Mango Mojito was delightful, but I didn’t realize that it was stirred, so I ended up drinking all the mango flavor in the first few sips, and then it just tasted like a regular mojito. The bartender could have stirred it better. On a positive note, my husband really enjoyed the Hula Hula cocktail. One negative point was the hostess, who seemed disengaged and didn’t properly welcome us; she was too busy chatting with friends, which made us question if we were in the right place. Overall, this place has a lot of potential but needs some improvements. I’d rate it around 3.5 stars, but since I had to choose, I’ll give it 4.

I ordered a beer and received it in a glass that had a chip on the lip. When I pointed this out, they offered me an empty glass instead. The waitress then poured my beer from the broken glass into a new one, rather than simply getting me a fresh beer to avoid any risk of glass shards. I had to insist on a completely new beer. When our food arrived, it came out at different times, which is common with sushi, but my daughter’s meal was delayed significantly. Overall, the food was overpriced and felt like it came out of a freezer. The sushi was acceptable, but if you're looking for good sushi, I recommend trying a dedicated sushi restaurant instead. The staff also seemed careless, particularly with their Tiki cocktails and desserts. The ambiance lacked the genuine Tiki vibe as well. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant.

Great happy hour drinks and food! Our waitress seemed to be completely new, didn't know the menu yet. The staff was forgotten on a few details. We liked the funny Tiki decor inside and outside! Tiki drinks were not well done, they did not seem to follow a recipe. Had a good time with our friends.

I visited for brunch and was impressed by the fantastic drink specials—those Bloody Marys were a real treat! The service is friendly, but it is very, very slow. Don’t expect your drinks to arrive quickly; however, when they do, you'll enjoy them. The food is great too. I tried the tacos on my first visit and the breakfast sandwich on my second, and both were delicious. I will definitely come back. Now that I know to expect the long wait, I’ll be prepared for it next time.
